Ham, poultry and cheese loaf

Ham and Cheese loaf

This is a recipe my mom has made since my childhood! This has always been a favorite for my family and it still is. My kids realize I’m making it and it’s met with a resounding “YESSS!”. I shared it with my DH’s fraternity cook while in college and it became a favorite of theirs too. They took it a step further and made it more of a Stromboli sometimes by putting pizza toppings inside. My family always made this as a way to use up leftover ham, turkey, chicken or all three! We use leftover ham from a large ham, we use leftover ham from a ham steak, and if I don’t have that I use deli ham that I happen to have in the fridge. For the poultry, I use any leftover poultry (from a rotisserie chicken or after Thanksgiving) or sometimes if I don’t have that I use canned chicken. It’s all great!

This is super easy to throw together (the most time consuming is cutting up the meats). It’s well loved and filling as well. Yes, it’s carb heavy but….sometimes you’ve gotto live a little! This recipe was even featured in a Taste of Home magazine, however, they took liberties with it and made it MUCH fancier than what my family did!

A filling but easy supper that pleases most people.

Any leftover ham and poultry can be used. Feel free to use deli ham or canned chicken as well. Feel free to tailor this to your families taste! My DH’s fraternity even put in pizza toppings at times!

I live in a very small town in the midwest. I have always loved baking, but after working at bakeries for 8 years (4 years in high school and then 4 years after I graduated college) it spurred my love even farther! I bake mostly sweets, but have SLOWLY improved with my ability to control yeast products. I bake anything from typical sweets to gluten free items as we have some gluten intolerance in my family. My theory, if I am going through the work....I want everyone to be able to enjoy it!
