My Favorite Gluten Free Flour mix

This is my favorite Gluten Free Flour mix so far! It has some issues but overall I like it. I started with the Flippin Delicious flour mix using 1 cup of white rice and 1 cup of brown rice flour. What I often don’t like about gluten free flours is they are grainy and gritty. The only rice flours I can find around the middle of no where are the Bob’s Red Mill brand. They are good but not very finely ground. I attempted to solve this by putting it in my food processor for a bit. This did seem to help!!

I don’t add Xanthan Gum right away allowing me to adjust to individual recipes or not at all if I like.

So far, this is my favorite GF flour mix.

Where I am I can only get the Bob’s Red Mill stone ground flours. I find they are too grainy for my liking with texture. I put my mix in the food processor for 3-4 minutes to help make it a finder grind. I found this helps a lot!

Ingredients

-1 cup White rice flour
-1 cup Brown rice flour
-1 cup Potato Starch
-1 cup Tapioca Starch

Directions

1. Measure all ingredients into food processor
2. Blend on high 3-4 minutes or until it is at a super fine consistency you are happy with.
3. Start Baking!!

I live in a very small town in the midwest. I have always loved baking, but after working at bakeries for 8 years (4 years in high school and then 4 years after I graduated college) it spurred my love even farther! I bake mostly sweets, but have SLOWLY improved with my ability to control yeast products. I bake anything from typical sweets to gluten free items as we have some gluten intolerance in my family. My theory, if I am going through the work....I want everyone to be able to enjoy it!
